Re: Bowel cancer any tips?

Post by Vespa »

Had a call with my oncologist yesterday.

I've recently had an MRI, PET, MDSA and CT scan in preparation for my radiotherapy.

When they were removing my tumour some of it fell back into my body and they were worried that cancer cells may be lurking in there ready to turn up elsewhere. However, after all the scans they've now decided that monitoring is a better course of action than blasting me with x-rays and killing one of my kidneys.

Apart from now being on blood thinners forever I'm off treatment and can go back to work in March.

I'm, as they say, chuffed. :D

Obviously, there is some doubt because the tumour was awkward but being off treatment will be great. I'll just be left to deal with this awful dad body.

Sincerely I'd like to thank everyone on this forum who has given me best wishes and support, you're a lovely bunch of anonymous randoms on the Internet :D

Great news, Vespa.
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

A genuine lump to my throat, sigh of relief and a smirk from me. Chuffed.
