Of those who were on my degree course, who all attended grammar school, I wouldn't have trusted half of them to cross the street unaided. It was heads down and learn. Apart from that they hadn't a grain of common sense.
The same applies to a good number of the teachers I came across. Qualified, yes, But lacking common sense, yes also.
