I do not read his posts and haven't done for over a year and yet he still can't let go. I guess Brexit has unhinged some more than others.

You do. You just posted a gif asking him why he's so obsessed with you. You will have had to have read that post to know he was talking about you.Darkyboy wrote:AlcoholBrazil wrote:You two.........get a room !

Because I saw that he had replied to my earlier post prior to logging in. That does not mean that I read the post. He does it all the time, which is up to him, but it really is Gaunt thread creepiness.

It sounds a humorous insult, but it is based on race, so of course it's a racist term. If the term referred to black people, you can be damn sure it would be called racist. As for other racist terms, the word "Paki" wasn't racist, because it's short for Pakistani; but it became racist, because it was used by the far right to demean Asians in general.
Have to disagree. Affluent white men with reactionary opinions are not a race. White people mocking other white people over their rosy cheeks is not racism. White lefties insulting other white people in this fashion is no more than a petty insult, and any any right winger saying that it is racist, is lowering themselves to the level of those who made it up, and cry racism at any opportunity.
You have to be incredibly dim or in desperate need of victim status to think gammon is comparable to n*****.Darkyboy wrote:Zambo wrote:Darkyboy wrote:Zambo wrote:Come on chaps, calling someone a 'gammon' isn't racist surely. I understand what you are saying and as I'm not going to shout "you are a racist" or start a campaign on Twitter. That is for the left to do; that is their domain. However, when you specifically bring ethnicity into an insult, it takes on different connotations. Calling someone a bastard, is completely different to calling someone a black bastard. And I agree that it is mainly whites who use the word gammon to insult other whites. But, as Kowalski said, this is the internet; so no one knows what colour anyone else is. That alters the dynamic the same as black people calling each other "nigger" in a matey way, is not the same as a white person saying it.
At the danger of repeating myself, I have said that if people want to use the term then fine. But they need to be aware that is an insult partly based on colour. It is a sign of the contempt, the hard-left feel for a large section of the electorate. It is the hypocrisy of using hateful rhetoric, that puts off most sensible people. When you have so many traditional Labour voters, who cannot stand them now, you would think that they would try to find out why.
Kowalski wrote:There does seem to be some confusion over the correct meaning of the word.
According to Ralph it refers to wealthy white, country club brexit voters.
Eastand seems to think gammons are white, EDL marching, brexit supporting yobs.

Actually, I don't think the words you quote were very often meant as an insult back in the free days, and I doubt whether they'd have become so contraversial without all the race baiting down the years. In a rational world they're probably on the same level as Paddy or Taff, but we are where we are at this point.
I personally don't give a tit which word someone calls me - they're only words and it's insane to worry about them really, ( sticks and stones). Thus I'm not worried if someone wants to use the word gammon, but since the description includes " white" it is a racist term according to the ridiculous current view of such matters .
My reference to Nazi storm troopers was suggesting that exactly the same type of people who can be motivated to get so hysterical about race in one direction can just as easily be manipulated in another direction using their own obsessional mindset.
Let’s be honest, nobody is. Some people really want to have a sense of grievance & if they haven’t got any genuine grievances they search around for something. Pretending to be upset about the word gammon is a textbook example.

No one was worried very much about the currently banned words until the establishment started race baiting. If people lap it up it will get worse though and they'd love to see white males feeling so trodden on that they'll become professional victims and start hurting others and feel justified in that.
You can see that it's starting to catch on by the reaction to the Tommy Robinson thing.
What is this textbook which you and Hillman keep referring to in matters like this ?
This is all such a transparent effort to cause division and distract attention from important matters that everyone really should be able to sus it out, but they can't apparently.

I don't suppose most uneducated Germans understood that they were supporting an evil philosophy, so again, what do we expect here ?
