From what I've read Waitrose profits are down 12% or even though they sold more, that's more to do with the weakish pound than any underlying trend that folks are jumping ship to the cheaper operators imo. You think John Lewis is too expensive and don’t want to go the “chavvy shops”. Do you only care about your image? Don’t be too proud, Poundland is fine I can get cheap, convenient stuff. I don’t go there to make a fashion statement because the media tells me to.
