Another  moment from dear ol’ Brother Royals.

Displaying his usual tenuous grasp of history as more light is shed on the Amritsar Massacre, the centenary of which occurred last week.

A shameful and bloody episode in British military history but eh wot, old fruit.....we mustn’t criticise it for fear of being disloyal.

:drinkers:

I don't think anyone's expecting loyalty from some of the people here. These things happen in wars in fact, and Britains got an excellent record compared to other countries, but it's no surprise that some here want to single them out. Truth is that a lot of people have been so brainwashed that they don't like this country much, and maybe they'll regret that if their dream of foreign subjugation or socialist dictatorship ever comes true.

Just for the record ....there was no “war” in India at the time of the Amritsar Massacre.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

Indeed.

That nakes a grand total of sin fifty years,

And the ones thar were found guilty of murdering unarmed civilians became “heroes” in the right wing press abd were released and allowd back in the army.

Now personally, I don’t much see the point of charging people over murders committed 47 years ago,as this fellow has been, when eye witness accounts must be a bit sketchy and tge accused himself must be arounfpd seventy years old.

The disgrace is that the Britush Army did not own up to the fact this young boy was murdered in cold blood at the time.....shot in the head twice apparently.....and take actuon themselves.

But like the Bloody Sunday victims, the initial response to this murder of a British citizen on the streets of this here United Kingdom was to accuse the dead boy of being a “gunman” and sweep the incident under t’ carpet.

So instead it was left to his family to pursue justice for their dead relative and clear his name .....and for that they must be commended.

Very upsetting for them I'm sure, but in wars (declared or otherwise) people get killed quite a lot and it's nothing to do with right or wrong , or intent for that matter.
You see, it's a lot of people running round with weapons trying to kill people before they get killed themselves and they don't have the luxury of thinking too deeply or long in the comfort of their armchairs decades after the event.

It's nothing new. It's been happening for thousands of years and that's why it's better to avoid having wars if you can possibly avoid it.
