So retain from posting DM articles if they and you become the object of derision. What really is so difficult with that? I don’t know anyone who refrains from posting here because they know they will have the piss taken out of them by posting errant shit from an online rag that exists for thickos, posts a stream of lies lies daily and for the benefit of individuals who have to be told to have a reason to get angry with blacks, ‘lefties’, people with disabilities, Muslims, gay people and Asians.

I’m a bit confused, in one sentence you say that you know people don’t post here because of the ridicule they post and in another, you say you don’t want this place becoming a “cock sucking club”. What is it you actually want as you seem to be enraged about disabled parking and are changing your own preferences. You’re tying yourself up in knots and posters are running rings around you based on the utter twaddle you’ve posted in this thread today.

Have a break from the forum old friend and sort your head out as at the moment it’s all over the bloody shop.

Well I think you've just proved my point. The lack of tolerance of other peoples opinions and the derision, mocking, and scorn does not make good for a decent section. Why should others stop dong something just becaue you and others don't like it. The immaturity shown on this thread alone is pathetic

What will happen on here, the way things are going, and with the arrogant sort of comments you've just made, is that people won't bother. As I've recently said, the number of posters and the quantity they post has significantly reduced of late. They obviously had enough of the patronising shite like what you have just posted, and I don't blame them in the slightest. It's not going to change though, because you won't recognise or take on board what has been said. It's sad that the forum is drifting in that direction and I think when it's just a handful of posters agreeing with each other, it might sink in, but I wouldn't be certain of it.

Well Roy, Royals, darky, yourself, Steve from the other side post here and whilst there is robust debate, I think there is reasonable mutual respect between those on the right and those on the left. Where there is a problem is trying to make a superfluous point and using an imaginary, nebulous excuse saying the place is going down the shitter.

The problem here is exemplified by the misinformation, lack of clarity and outright deceit from quelle surprise a stream of DM article which has been debunked throughout the day. Just refrain from posting shite from the DM and then getting on your high horse about other posters.

So Zambo, what sort of reaction did you think you’d get when you started this thread?

Did you think everyone would agree with you? And not only agree but say “ Instead of giving out more Blue Badges, they should be taking more away. I’ve seen some of these people, they don’t look disabled to me!!”.

Or did you even consider people would read it and think “That’s a typical Mail non-story”?

Because if you didn’t consider one of those, that’s a pretty big insult to people’s intelligence.

Now whatever you do, do not Google Viz comic Daily Male. You might get a shock at how accurate that might be.

No, that's not quite right Lawnsy. I was thinking of posting recently as a matter of fact that you are able to represent what might be described as the socialist view very rationally and without the nastiness of some. I might think that some of the stuff Hillman posts is a bit bonkers, but he's not generally nasty either.
Some of the others though are just out and out bloody unpleasant and very very intolerant of views and people they don't like.
I thought they'd calmed down in terms of denouncing anyone outside their little extreme leftist clique and attributing evil motives or stupidity to them, but they seem to be making a comeback.
On this particular issue I took a slightly different view to Zambo - he knows I find it hard to he knows get vengeful about anything less than a bank robbery - but I hope I said that in a civil way.
As far as telling people what they can quote and where from - well that's getting back to the problem we had recently with the usual suspects trying to run the place.

What has happened on this thread, is that the anger, prejudice and dislike for a newspaper, has resulted in the main point being overlooked and ignored. Moreover, the ironic thing, is that it has nothing to do with the Daily Mail or any other newspaper for that matter. Posters have just gone off in a rant, with the sole intent of fucking off the Mail and anyone who reads it.

If anyone is still interested, the main point ws as follows.

This announcent of a new scheme to include people with invisible illnesses, will shaft existing genuine blue badge holders and allow more abuse of the system imo

Again, if anyone is interested, I'm happy to discuss that, but not the source that triggered that opinion. If posters want to continue to run rings round me, as my old friend Lawns thinks has happened, then that's ok as well.

There you go Lawnsy. As I said, you can argue your side without calling people names , and that's appreciated !

What's happened here , once again, is the usual suspects getting together to tag team someone who's offended their sensibilities by daring to say something they happen to disagree with.

They don't like the Daily Mail apparently , and I don't like the Huffington Post, but I don't forbid anyone to quote it. It's tabloid journalism, but this is tabloid debate, so that's perfectly okay.

In fact some of the people here could probably be caricatures in a tabloid cartoon based on left wing students who never grew up and got a job.

Well, that's great if you fancy yourself as a Citizen Smith or Rick Mayall's character from The Young Ones, ( you do know they were supposed to be comedic figures ?) , but when you start trying to be Stalin, complete with purges and political denouncement, it's time for someone to stand up to you.

We've got a little group of social malcontents here at the moment feeding off each other to try and ban dissenting opinions, and that ends up with people leaving the forum or visiting as guests and never joining because maybe they'd like to contribute to the conversation without being called ill educated , stupid or even wicked if they don't comply with the dictats and pseudo moralities of the lefty boot boys.

Incidentally, don't think anyone's stupid enough not to spot the fact that you're going out of your way to bait Zambo because he's a moderator and therefore you can show that you own the place.
Guess what ? You DONT own the place. You DONT get to tell anyone which newspapers they can read, and you DONT get to shout people down who take a view which you don't approve of.

I still think it's an important benefit. I don't know how some people would manage without it now. It's being spoilt by the usual lazy cunts, who feel they have the right to cheat the system.

Down Sainsburys last Friday. Saw a bloke park in a disabled bay, he got out and sprinted to the cash machine. Had to walk past his car and there was a badge on the dash.

Maybe he was suffering anxiety wondering if he had enogh cash in his account. You know, the sort that will soon be entitled to a badge.

We now seem to live in a world of strange ideas of entitlement, and apathy about changing these ideas, together with those in cloud cukooland, who think these stupid ideas are going to work, and everyone who has a disabilty is going to be happy ever after.

That's my point really. They make all these rules about where you can park in the first place, then they make exceptions in some cases and everyone ends up being pissed off.

We have already established that you haven't a clue what you are talking about on this subject, hey boy.

You might be better employed refraining from commenting on it, Brother R.

I like to stimulate discussion and encourage people to do their own research. Google 'abuse of blue badge scheme' and see what you can come up with.

Here's a starter for Six

Operation Bluebird
Counterfeit badges
Using a lost or stolen badge
Using the badge of a deceased person.
Cost - Genuine badge holders save around £2500 per year on London Congestion charges alone, plus residents parking permits etc etc
Cost again - taking enforcement action

It's very clear to see that when they bring the new scheme in, it is going to make it much harder for existing badge holders to park, because councils have not planned for it. It is also clear to see that we are going to have much more fraudulent use, and that's on top on those who are going to get a badge who shouldn't qualify.

It's all very well just saying, oh this is a great idea because people with invisible health problems are going to benefit by it and ignoring the obvious negative aspect, and ridiculing anyone who comes up with some potential pitfalls, mainly based on the source of information, but I guess it's what the forum has become. This place will never attract new members whilst we have this shit going on.
