Indeed, m4rk. And have read far too much about it to doubt it. 'Nick' as in the other thread, is countered by many, many others whose evidence does tally and we can go back beyond North Wales,, where Messham misidentified Ally McAlpine for local 'Lord' and fancy house and car owner, Jimmie McAlpine, and beyond that. Not an uncommon occurrence, a recruit at Deepcut Barracks managed to shoot himself in the head twice with a rifle whilst several others also shot themselves in the head, also with rifles. but they didn't quite manage it with their arms tied.
