Back to Mr Cummings for a moment, there will be a lot of explaining to do afterwards on the herd immunity front.

It might have been a viable approach were it not for the fact that nobody knew what the threshold was. Realising that, it should have been abandoned.

He’s a breathtakingly arrogant know it all who doesn’t appear to give a toss about human life.

If only he was half as bright as he thinks he is.

Why is anyone surprised at his lack of moral standards?

Remember the three slogans he drilled into Leave people in 2016
£350m
Turkey
EU army

All of them lies.

He’s a moral vacuum. Bit of a worry such a weird, callous bloke is basically running the country, while Boris Johnson fiddle farts around.

If anyone with an iota of scientific understanding had read the several papers regarding the need to cut the rate of infection they would had they put the public good before that of monetary considerations. This herd immunity was a nonsensical idea.

The military should have been put on standby two weeks ago with their ability to support infrastructure, the police and help in logistics and the private sector requisitioned by law (not the NHS having to fork out) for beds and equipment in what is a national emergency.

Mind you Cummings is not the only thicko in this country. You only have to see the masses of the great British public. Thick as planks, ugly selfish greedy , entitled me,me,me specimens of so called humanity. And not just here but humanity across the globe. Forget the vulnerable and the poor.

The response from the supermarkets has been to profiteer. What the point of special hours for the NHS and vulnerable is I don't know when there is no stock on the shelves or online and you cannot get a delivery slot for love or money. Tesco in particular. Elderly hour at 9am but the locusts will have been in at 6am stripping away the essentials and no doubt taking up delivery slots into the middle of April as well. Mind you I have seen some of these pensioners the richer ones coming in their tractors and load up their two massive carts proud as punch.

If these morons cannot be expected to behave then you have to use force and laws to make sure they comply. I am a chronic asthmatic caring at the moment for a mother with COPD so I as you can imagine are not too best pleased having to take the risk of going out to the stores. I went two weeks ago and was lectured by some chav about my social distancing at the queue and how all this is just the flu.

The "this is just the flu" ignorance was present on this forum.

Largely among the people who now think Johnson and co have done a great job.

Yes. It appears the "super forecasting" wasn't so "super" after all, which is why he u-turned but it was too late. Predicting people's behaviour with algorithms is one thing, virology is something you can't control with focus groups or behavioural science.

If you're gonna start quoting lapdogs like Shipman then don't watch any news or media.

The 'lapdog' wrote the article from which the original quotes were taken you plum.

If you can't be arsed doing any research before you post, don't watch any news or media.

Classic Tory damage limitation article; he got it wrong but he changed his mind so we should all shut up. No.

When you f##k up in the political arena, the spotlight is on you. He should be crucified for underestimating the situation and not protected in a huddle by his mates in the media. Westminster bubble indeed...

A lot of it is people being frightened of him.
There isn't a minister who can move without checking first because he is in charge of who gets the jobs.
The business with Javid was quite remarkable.
Johnson thinks he owes his position to him so he will take some shifting.

Apparently they're going to hand considerable executive powers to Dominic Cummings on Friday which will enable him to make policy decisions during the present emergency such as suspending parliament if necessary without reference to anyone except the Prime minister and the Sovereign.
He'll also be able to authorise the deployment of troops if necessary and requisition buildings, vehicle and supplies for essential government purposes, and will be able to chair cabinet and cobra meetings if the Prime Minister should fall sick.

If he wasn’t a top private school, Oxbridge type, he wouldn’t get a job making sandwiches.

You could randomly pick a name out of the telephone directory who 9.9 times out of 10 would do a better job.

Unfortunately we have a weak-minded, muddle-head for Prime Minister who’s happy to hand the running of the country over to him.

Cummings has that position power based on his ability to win votes. Not because he's a great policymaker with a wealth of work product to demonstrate his understanding of social policy. He won a no vote for elected central mayor and claims he won the yes vote for Brexit.

The moment Cummings looks like he'll lose votes Boris will shoot him in the back of the head.
