Globalism

Post by Hillman avenger »

We hear about globalism every day and on here it seems to be assumed it's a bad thing and is being choreographed by sinister hidden figures.

But it seems to me to be not some great plot but an inevitable stage of capitalism, where production moves to its cheapest location and money moves to where it gets its best return. It has been developing since WW2 but is now accelerating with the help of technology. It seems to me to be irresistible.

Of course it bestows enormous power in the hands of business and finance, who know that they can exercise influence across the world with the threat of isolation or the promise of investment. Whether there are jews behind that, or even lizard people, is not the point. These people are not answerable to any electorate or institution.

The point is that if we are to moderate this concentration of power and have any hope for democracy we are doing absolutely the wrong thing dismantling what multinational political apparatus we have. The EU has stood up to Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and the rest, and won because it can control access to a market of 500m people. But in the UK and the US we are doing precisely the wrong thing. We are shutting up shop in the hope that it will all go away. We will regret doing that for decades to come. And we are being encouraged to weaken our position by Russia which stands to profit for other reasons from the demise of Western unity.

I can foresee a future where we will be so desperate in the UK for any investment from one of the giants that we will surrender any attempt at control just to get them here.

I despair.

Why are politicians/media rent-a-gobs, who have been arguing for Brexit on the basis of UK sovereignty and anti-globalisation, now arguing in favour of a ludicrously one-sided trade deal that will allow America to tell us what our food safety standard should be?

Anyone else noticed the recent deluge of Tweets from right wing politicians/organisations/shills trying persuade people chlorinated chicken isn’t so bad? Hard to believe it isn’t orchestrated.

We need to form stronger links with countries experiencing rapid growth, such as Ethiopia, China, India and Vietnam . Europe is in decline economically, demographically and culturally. We need to take more advantage of our commonwealth friends

I’ve heard through a VERY reliable source (the St Petersburg Courier), that we are in line to get a very favourable trade deal with Easter Island in the upcoming months. You heard it here first folks, but keep it under your hat. We don’t want talks to be scuppered at this late stage of proceedings.

Was that meant seriously?
Are you aware that the leaders of Australia NZ and Canada all told us in 2016 not to leave assuming they would do more trade with us?

Putin & Trump have told us it’s a great idea. So swings & roundabouts. I’m sure they have our best interests at heart.

 Did Leado really list Ethiopia and Vietnam as countries we should have stronger links with. Fucking hell, it’s all a bit random. Surprised he didn’t throw in growth in Tonga and Equatorial Guinea too. No surprise about him mentioning having ties with the Commonwealth, time to re-conolise them and leave them to fall apart when we get bored as with Kashmir, Yemen and India eh?

We should have stronger ties with Ethiopia and Somalia to enhance our one way trade deal in people

Tell that to Leado then. He’s a bit confused about that would mean.
