I think he'll hang on as long as he can and in his own mad mind even imagines a comeback, but I've just been reliably informed that he's being given the option of jumping or being pushed right now

He just said he won't lead labour at the next election. We know he's not exactly wedded to this pesky 'election' idea in the first place. Perhaps he's sees himself leading a Spartakist type putsch and installing himself as People's Leader. That would be worth a ringside seat. Him leading a small rabble of left shoe wearing, mung bean chewing retards down Whitehall past Starbucks bound and bemused civil servants and trying to storm Parliament. Even funnier when the first volley of police snipers hits the clownshoes procession.

I'd say that the left are an irrelevance for at least 5 years now , probably 10. Who they elect to lead them is baffling because it's hard to see a plausible candidate in the few survivors of the election, but I'm not sure it matters much.
What about Billy Bragg or Hillman ?

Agreed royals. Any decent middle of the road or slightly left of centre alternatives will be blocked by Momemtum. I’m sure you agree that we need a healthy opposition to provide some sort of dynamism in the political process. Corbyn is a weak twat with no understanding at all about what the real issues were and how to communicate effectively.

Yeah, I do agree that we need a credible opposition, but I don't think that necessarily needs to be based on an outdated left right paradigm. Lots of people might disagree with the new government over different things in future without harbouring a vision of a socialist or big state alternative.

He & McDonnell are determined to make sure that the hard left keep control of the party.

Edit: Grauniad are reporting that RLB has done a deal with Rayner. Rayner will be her deputy as reward for not standing against her in leadership contest. If this turns out to be the end result, Labour will be as extreme as it is now.
