What's the equivalent for a Brummie to use then? How about Fanny? :D

The thing I like most about this here bailiwick is that a fellow can say things here which on other message boards sets the snowflakes a’ fluttering and bring a torrent of abuse down on his head.

(albeit The Subster can get a bit right on every now and again :drinkers: )

But this Labour leadership contest.

What a bunch of unappealing candidates they are.

Why is this?

How come the party which has done so much to enhance the lives of the people of this country has arrived at this state.

IMO it is the first manifestation of the absurd “women only” shortlist policy dreamed up back in the late 20th.

The candidate should be the best person available.....irrespective of that person being male, female, neither of those, black, white, mixed race, old, young or middle aged.

Instead we have the likes of Emily Thornberry foisted upon us as a potential leader.

If the Labour party is so bereft of suitable talent to lead it that these four second rate female candidates are the only alternative to the second rate male candidate then I truly despair.
Alex Young, Howard Kendall, Andy King, Timmy Cahill, Dixie Dean and Mike Parry.....we'll never see the likes of them again.

You enquired about the meaning of 'Woke' a few days ago Pet. That bunch is what woke reflects.

Not giving the best applicant the job but sidelining him/her , and many others, so the leader can be female lesbian gay, black, BME, trans, disabled etc etc or a mixture of all.

Anybody but a straight white male.

Total madness.

Having said that, I don't care who the Labour candidate is as long as they are 9 parts useless so at least they've not let me down.

Apparently, from some bloke on talkRADIO this afternoon that Emily Thornberry is a good laugh on a pub crawl.

That's not what it means at all.

She's pretending to come from a working class background when in truth it was a very privileged working class background. More upper middle class actually.

The 'flag' incident tells you all you need to know about her association with the real working class.

Though it looks like the hierarchy have ditched them in favour of more modern leftists from rich boroughs who don't like their forebears from these communities.

I'd say a good Labour leader would be a proper Labour bloke myself. Someone hardly known in the elitist circles but has represented solid values for years. Trouble is they are confined to the back benches as no one really wants to give them any airtime.

So let's do it via a game show or quiz. Let's make the new leader a circus act like the bearded lady or maybe draw from the future in the as yet unborn foetus of a top celebrity which is bound to be a labour voter when it reaches millionaire status at the age of two.

It's celebrities bringing their children up as 'non binary' and every other circle of life shunning straight white males. Why not just admit it?

Get woke go broke is the phrase , and it's proving to be true.

Hollywood movies where the cast can't have a white male in it. Marvel Comic converting their heroes into trans people (not the ones who used to be on TOTP :D ) It's all bullshit.

This is only a reality on Twitter and other excuses to avoid real life. Anyone on street level has never even heard of this crap. I must admit my own interest is precisely that.

What's it like on the ground in everyday Britain? Lets ask twitter to find out. Meaningless saddoes in their imaginary playground.

Yes it is.
Anyone (such as Tick) that uses 'gammon' as a racial pejorative is as much a racist as those who use the word nigger and similar pejoratively.

No, it's not. Sounds like you have a few issues to deal with.

m4krb has a sensational blend of prejudice , ignorance and condescension.

He thinks he knows best who Labour should choose and that would ideally be a bloke with a flat cap and a whippet. The kind of person who he thinks the working-class, or at least those in the Hovis advert, would like.

Labour's two most successful leaders were NOT working-class . And strangely enough people voted for them anyway because they thought they could understand what they wanted.
