If you are not responsible with speech there are consequences, e.g. slander, perjury, violation of copyright and trade secrets, obscenity and incitement to name few that if you decide that you have the 'freedom of speech' and break any of the various laws attached with them, a criminal arrest could happen.

My right not to feel threatened or intimidated.

My right to justice. It is not fair to suggest or assume that if you impugn me I can remedy that through the court. In reality the vast majority of people do not have the time or the money to do that, and in any event the damage is done.

Even Keir Starmer, who probably COULD use the court, hasn't, about that contemptible video effort in the election. The damage can't be corrected. Even if I had been a Tory voter before that I would have walked away then, wondering what kind of people would do that.

Even though lying about WMDs and lying to start a war didn't make you walk away from Tony Blair !
You can still sue people for defamation in free countries like the USA, ( although it's harder in some circumstances), but you can't be arrested or prosecuted for expressing your OPINION.
If someone's opinion makes you feel intimidated, that's not rational and so it can't logically be a right can it ? I expect you can find someone who might claim to feel threatened or intimidated by anything.
In fact, interfering with basic inalienable human rights such as free speech is historically only ever practised by dangerously dogmatic regimes of one sort or another, and it never ends well for them.

Like all this stuff trying to evade democracy with huxterisms and excuses for three years, it won't last the test of time because it's false.

Just thinking though, is that bollocks about Kier Starmer the thing you've been looking for to demand a " people's election" ?

Funny how you keep doing that.
Attributing stuff to people that they have never said so you can beat your chest about how wrong they are.
Never works.
I thought the manipulation of the Starmer video was a new low in a government which has been scraping the barrel vigorously since it began. Who on earth thought it was a good idea?
I imagine they had seen one lie after another consumed without challenge so they lost their judgement as to where to stop.
Starmer would have been 100% justified to sue but as ever the damage would already have been done.

I don't think I was beating my chest was I ?
In any case, Starmer's not going to sue because it would be politically stupid and he'd have an excellent chance of losing.

I think you should have a watch of the video clip at the start of this thread and reconsider. I know it's a bit of a bummer when elections dissapoint your hopes - I can recall being quite crestfallen when Blair won. However, it's nonetheless an exciting time of opportunity and optimism for everyone now that Brexit is being done and that's no good unless everyone ,including you, benefits from this national unification .
Don't dwell on what you imagine might have happened under a labour / remain outcome or try to explain it in any other way than people voted against it. Give the idea of democracy and Liberty a try and maybe you'll like it.

It's OK, Tormato. Royals is so obsessed with starting threads about "the death of socialism" that he forgets little details like this

It's not about labour/Tory , which as I've pointed out before rhymes with lavatory.
It's about people demonstrating that they'll vote for those who respond to their wishes.
If Labour still exists at the next election and they offer the people a better deal , I'll vote for them.

If the people fear the government ,that's tyrany. If the government fears the people ,that's democracy !

Let's stop being tribal and demand representation of the people !

You've got more sense than that. I expect it from some others, but not you.
No government ever gets 50% of the total vote .

10,292,354 or 32.2% of the voters voted for it ... maybe it's in a slight cough phase than all out death.
