Yet each successive generation has squandered the fruits of the allies hard won victory.

All the whilst people like Royal24s continue to gaze backwards and abuse the memory of those who served and died by comparing the modern EU to Nazi Germany.

Yes, I agree.
I think some people can take it a little too far with the WWII stuff, but nothing wrong in my book in using 'we' and remembering what they did.
The world would certainly be a very different place had it not been for the bravery of British and Allied soldiers in WWII.

You seem to be unable to adjust to anything in the world later than about 75 years ago.

We've had this conversation before.
The Germans have a history of over 2000 years of military and political expansion. In the course of all this there is a theme of terrible barbarity, slavery and genicide.
Therefore it is rational to be suspicious when we see them creating then dominating the EU.
Still more so when it abandons democratic representation and starts to morph into one single Superstate ,or " Grosse Deutchland ".

In terms of " moving on " so easily after their fairly recent activities during WW2, I can't join you in that any more than I can casually writing off slavery as you did in the other thread .

You clearly admire that country a great deal, but historically those who have imagined they could receive civilised behaviour from them in exchange for going along with their ambitions have been dissapointed and MUCH worse.
