Have a look on Twitter – is pretty obvious what it's referring to.

I'm utterly bemused by this case it looks awful.

The victim had to have hospital treatment, she complained to the Party who have apparently been sitting on the case for a month, she eventually went to the police. Yet, the Tory Party won't even suspend the accused until the investigation is completed.

I thought Cummings and Johnson were media geniuses,

It's to do with the presumption of innocence, one assumes.
If they suspend him then that's the same as naming him. That's what the Cliff Richard business was all about. One gets arrested "on suspicion of" ... it's only when there's enough evidence to charge people that you can identify them, as I understand it.

Normally I'd agree, however, in this case, the government has repeatably refused calls to provide anonymity to people accused of rape. Unless it appears, it is one of their own.

No excuse for inconsistency.

The Tory party has known about this since April, my sympathy for them sitting on this until the victim decided they were going to do fuck all about it is is rather low. Why sexual assault is even viewed as a matter for any internal discipline process is a mystery to me, it's a crime.

Some of the Tory media looking after their own. The Evening Standard headlined it as “a man in his 50’s”. Not one mention of the word Tory MP. George doing his job. If it was a Labour MP or perish the thought, worked for the BBC you can bet the headlines would of been very different.

It’s only a few months ago a young footballer was headline news across the media being investigated about a sexual assault. The lady apparently had serious injuries. The police had no problem releasing his name or the press naming him before any charges were made. It turned out he was probably guilty of being naive. No charges of course but the damage was already done.

An ex-colleague of mine, a teacher. was suspended on the spot when an allegation was made. I knew who the 'witnesses' were and I wouuldn't have trusted a word they said.
Subsequently charged. On trial day, the prosecution failed to get the compainant to court; I don't know why. Charge dismissed, career ruined.

Exactly. That's why you shouldn't do it.

Jess Phillìps talking a load of bollocks as usual. Too many people's lives have been ruined by naming them before they are found guilty of a crime. She's going on as though she has already found him so.
