Don't think he's ill, recently saw a youtube clip of him taking part in some UK TV debate and tbf he looked tanned and well rather than stressed and permanently beetroot.

Here he is with his errmm daughter.

I think that's his wife, she's 20 years younger than him.

I remember watching Daily Politics and Jo Coburn announced that Neil had got married, no one knew about it and none of the people involved in the programme had been invited, not even his co presenter Coburn, but, she said, even though non of us had been invited we wish both of them every happiness. I don't remember but I think she said that they were sending him a gift or card anyway.
Mind you, given the number of people Neil knew, and, I suppose his wife too, given that she has some high profile job, the number of people they would have had to invite would have rivalled 'My big fat Greek/Gypsy Wedding' so the best option was family only and that way no one has their nose put out of joint.

Yes, a rehashed Private Eye joke. Lucky fella, who says status, power and money isn't an afrodisiac.

It is now being widely reported that Neil is not going back to GB News.
It seems be is thoroughly disenchanted with the amateurs, racists and conspiracy theorists it now uses.
It's a shame if he is lost to broadcasting.

It's a fuck up of his own making. No sympathy deserved.

Not sympathy.
Just a shame that a good broadcaster gone to waste.
Much what I thought when he left the BBC.

As good a journalist he is, he's just one man. There'll be others to come in good time.

And he'll pop up somewhere else soon enough.

The jammy git!
I think, in his case, "spending more time with my family" is a legitimate excuse :-)

The BBC didn't want him.

He lives in Grasse on the Côte d'Azur, I'd spend as much time as possible there if I owned his mansion - it's lovely.

As he tells it they wanted him but they didn't want to do the type of shows he wanted to do.

Are you going for a record?
He was their primary political commentator for over 20 years. Very far from not tolerating a right-winger.
And he was offered a new role, just that they thought Jo Coburn was due her promotion.
