Electric toothbrushes

Post by theleader82 »

Is it worth using a battery powered one? I've only ever used hand power to brush my teeth. I noticed the other day they were looking pretty yellow, even though I brush regularly.

Don't boher with a bettery powered one unless you use rechargeable batteries, if you can afford it get one with a plug in charge, there are several on the market, wait until they are on offer, you can sometimes get a £45 one for 30 quid, I have the Braun ones but be aware that the replacement heads are expensive, again, wait until they are on offer but don't buy the generic ones which fit most electric models, the y are too soft.

Hope thios helps, look forward to you posting a pic of your bright gnashers. :P

Saw my dentist a couple of weeks ago. She said definitely get an electric one, but:
- don't spend more than 25/30 quid
- make sure it has a pressure sensor so you don't brush too hard.

She said that they used to be crap, but now they are the best way of getting rid of plaque etc from your teeth.
The one I've got lets you know every 30 seconds to move on to a different part of the mouth (supposed to do 30 seconds on each 'quarter')

My youngest got a Bluetooth enabled electric toothbrush for Christmas, it's syncs with an app on his phone and monitors how long and which teeth he's brushing and gives a report at the end on which teeth he may have missed and time taken etc

Always used a manual toothbrush, and have still got 6 of my own teeth left.

How many gags cracked over blue teeth as you chowed down on toffee pennies only to wreck your dentures then soil yourself in fear on the butterscotch vinyl couch/sofa?
