1 and on ears only. It is shite bland, build it up, let it down, build it up and nowhere else to go. It ain't great. Uptempo is good
2nd listen. It is anthemic by numbers with a build and just not there and so bland. All inclusive as needed,

Going solo will be shite, you are allowed 6 on stage. Use this time well old friend.

Already calling it a 6.5/10. and right side, the bad side.
As I say, not great but the best of an average bunch, in my opinion.

Recap of all 43 entries. Nothing stunning stood out in the mini-clips though like Azer Azer. Fat Netta from Israel is getting hype on social meeja but so did fat Bojana in 2015 and the audience loved her and she came 10th. Need full listens this year as not going in blind.

Mauboys who did the 'come and get us plea' in 2014 representing Oz. Have to say from the clips, the quality of fanny looks far better than in previous years. :P Anyway:

Quite why the BBC aren't knocking your door down to do this years commentary is quite beyond me.

I think a minute's flag waving in gay abandon is called for.

Not seen a thread started, first semi final is tonight.

The UK entry is pretty decent I reckon.

Well done, Zambo, and merged. Was just getting a list ready.

First semi-final is tonight at 8pm live on BBC4 and as it's Scotty Mills and Rylan (no Mel Giedroyc, think she is announcing the points on Saturday), also on the Eurovision youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/eurovision

Tonights contestants, ten go through and UK viewers can vote:

01 Azerbaijan
02 Iceland
03 Albania
04 Belgium
05 Czech Republic
06 Lithuania
07 Israel
08 Belarus
09 Estonia
10 Bulgaria
11 F.Y.R. Macedonia
12 Croatia
13 Austria
14 Greece
15 Finland
16 Armenia
17 Switzerland
18 Ireland
19 Cyprus

Good slot for Oirland. Also they will show some of the six already qualified; France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom and Portugal.

Only listened to the youtube recap as per so going in fairly blind. Scores and comments to come. :drinkers: :drinkers:

Azer Azer, usually do well. Fairly pretty lady. Standard Euro pop, sounds like many others, especially that "stop, ah, ah ,ah". Always had to score first one and set a marker. Hope it qilaifies but surely there's better.

Azerbaijan 6.5/10.

Sounds like old Johnny Logan's 'Hold me Now' at the start.

Proper guitars. Southern european soft rock. Bonus points for singing in native language I think, didn't recognise any words.

Albania 6.5/10.

A Belgian ingenue. Nice enough, but like last year for them, needed a bit more oomph IMO.

Belgium 6.5/10.
