Well, I must say, I expected that reaction from the usual apologists zambo, but
you have surprised me.
Perhaps you could comment as to whether my observation is justified or not, and then debate it, rather than this silly ad hominem knee-jerk reaction that is engendered to kill such debate.
Roy, it was a genuine question. You seem to find a way of bringing multiculturalism into almost every thread. You often call those who disagree with you blinkered, but just try and see how your posts look to others, and make some allowance for and be tolerant, of that. So there are some black people, they may also be gay, in tv adverts. If you look through your window you may well see some out and about in the street just going about their daily business. Surely recognising that this is the norm isn't being brainwashed.
If you are saying there is some over-representation, quota fulfilling, and prejudice, let's have some backup.
I think some posters should ask themselves why they have a knee-jerk reaction when someone brings up the muliticulturalism/mass immigration subject, even if that someone is someone like me who, I admit, regards the topic as a top issue. They should ask themselves why that knee jerk reaction doesn't kick in in the same way when other posters seem to bring their 'specialist subjects' into many threads (ralph & anti-tory; or steve and pro-brexit come to mind). Yes, I do bring it up often because I do believe it is not only one of the most important social issues of our time, but more importantly, as you've demonstrated, one of the most difficult to actually debate.
Anyway, you then seem to be suggesting that advert land is actually representative (racially) of our society today, which, of course, is ridiculous, unless I'm wrong, and only around 10% or so of all adverts show mixed race couples and groups (which is easily provable just by watching itv for an evening), or that non-whites make up at least 50% of the population - which is it?
Anyone (such as Tick) that uses 'gammon' as a racial pejorative is as much a racist as those who use the word nigger and similar pejoratively.
