ParkRuns are really good. They take place all over the UK and are free. You can run walk or jog and get timed if you like

Parks are the best place, and stay on grass, your knees and hips will last a lot longer.

Depends really, probably up to a mile if I'm really motivated but I generally hate the pastime. Fucks up the joints, is boring, have to encounter hazards like pothole and drivers, it's cold and wet and generally feel fucked off after doing it. Apart from that, It's not too bad.

At first I found running on treadmills easier than outside. However oddly my pace is a lot slower on a treadmill. Now I only use treadmills as a last resort. I get board very easy.

I love running outside but I guess it depends on where you live.

I used to do loads on the treadmill and liked the variation in speed, incline, etc as well as interval training. Felt I could pace myself properly as well as there being less impact on my joints.

As per, have done 1/2s before, never really had the desire to do a marathon, due to the training, kudos Stevie Hunt. Love and always cycle. 2012 bust my ankle and had it pinned so said no, nay, never as arthritis incoming.

A few types from work wanted to do the Norwich 10k in 2016 so agreed. Bought (then sold) a treadmill to train on as hate road running, built up slowly to distance. A 10k run after a night shift on a treadmill at home listening to Boozil is quite fun. Knew could last it and running with slow women was easy and no effects.

Now some are talking about doing this: https://www.ukrunningevents.co.uk/infla ... un-norfolk

A month or two training should be ok, though at the mo could probably do 5k, might be very slow though.

Tending more towards the Tour de Broads summer events though: https://www.pedalrevolution.co.uk/upcom ... ds-summer/

And didn't say, top running, caveman.

There are a few running threads here if you search for them.

Our local park run is good fun, you can do 5k or 10k. I use to do 10k regularly when doing standards, now I'm doing sprints I'm focusing n 5ks.

How far is dependent on consistency.

I used to be able to run marathons in 3 hours.

Now no more than 5 miles before achilles start playing up. I ruined them training when injured. Don't ever run if you have the slightest niggle, guys. You will pay for it in the long run.

Yes mate, that's what I do now.

I'm heavily into road cycling, I average around 150 - 200 miles a week.

Achilles are fine cycling

I ran a marathon a couple of years ago. Since doing it I've lost the motivation! Used to love running though.
