I prefer 'wear', therefore 'attire' which is in the thread title and whose definition has a far broader meaning than just 'clothes'. It includes all sorts of female accoutrements, gew gaws and paraphernalia.

If you can 'wear' a plaster, you (well not you, obviously, but a Zambette) can wear a sanitary napkin or a tampon.
By the same token, you could ‘wear’ a perforated sheet of bog roll when it’s err attached to a stubborn, undetected dangleberry or a fatty fold of skin, but you’re Shirley not advocating a thread entry on the same are you?
