Anything by Oasis... Butchering Beatles as history should know them.
I hate those slowed down acoustic cover versions you hear on adverts for the last 10 years..

Spot on, Guard-o. So unoriginal, hearing Britpop/R'n'B/everything else played on tinkly pianos and glockenspiels to flog products around Christmas time.black_guardian wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 9:48 am I hate those slowed down acoustic cover versions you hear on adverts for the last 10 years..

Re: The murder of a classic
A bit arguable if this counts as he played on the subtle and sublime original. Also I like most of his output.
This is shockingly bad though.

Re: The murder of a classic
That is not accurate.
When I first heard that (on a different clip), I thought it was a diabolical attempt at 2001 by a school orchestra.
In fact, it was an experiment performed by the Portsmouth Sinfonia, and the deal was that they all swapped instruments, and no one was allowed to play an instrument that they had played before – which kind of shows!

Re: The murder of a classic
The comments below the video are priceless.
- one about all members of the band being determined not to hit the first note of each bar
- the falsetto bit in the 2nd verse ("There'll be no more hiiiiiiighs!") becomes "There's be no more AAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!"
