I love offspring.
Pop punk...not punk per se, but still some decent bands of that ilk...alkaline trio, NOFX, Millencolin etc
None of whom would exist as we know them without punk.

Agreed. They’re the direct descendant of punk, but then you’ve got split offs of Pop Punk. For example I’d say Blink 182 or Ok Go sit far more towards the pop line than the likes of Offspring.
