FOOLS PANEL -WORLD CUP 2022 COMPETITION

Welcome to the Fools Panel 2022 World Cup competition which starts a week today on Sunday 20th November 2022

We have 24 players taking part made up of the 17 players who are in League 1 and 2 of the weekly fools panel and 7 guests who have agreed to play in this one off competition.

This will be run along the lines of the Euro 2020 Fools Panel and by way of explanation to everyone, basics are as follows.

Group Stage

Each country plays 3 games in the group section of this world cup and you can predict outcomes and scores in one hit if you want.If you want to predict 2 rounds and leave your last round to see how teams have fared that's fine.Taking each round seperately is also OK .

However there are deadlines for each round and these are as follows

ROUND 1

DEADLINE FOR PREDICTIONS -SATURDAY 19TH NOVEMBER 2400 HRS
GAMES PLAYED 20TH NOVEMBER -24TH NOVEMBER

ROUND 2

DEADLINE FOR PREDICTIONS - THURSDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2400 HRS
GAMES PLAYED 25TH NOVEMBER -28TH NOVEMBER

ROUND 3

DEADLINE FOR PREDICTIONS -MONDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 2400 HRS
GAMES PLAYED 29TH NOVEMBER-02ND DECEMBER

Note - Complete rounds of games must be predicted at all times to cut down on admin.

Competition will be run in conjunction with the existing Fools Panel rules which can be viewed in the forum .
Basic scoring will be as follows

Correct score prediction of game -3 points
Correct outcome of game with incorrect score - 1 point
Incorrect outcome or score - 0 points

At the end of each round league tables will be produced for the forum
At the end of round 3 the final league table will be produced.
The top 16 total scores will go forward to the knock out stage and the draw for this will be
1 v 16,2 v 15,3 v 14 etc

Any ties in the final table will be settled as follows

1. MOST CORRECT SCORE PREDICTIONS
then
2. MOST CORRECT OUTCOMES
then
3. MOST ACCURATE TOTAL GAME SCORES ,FOR AND AGAINST

That is enough to digest at the moment.
There will be details of the knockout round nearer the time of this starting

FOOLS PANEL -WORLD CUP COMPETITION

We have 21 starters who got their results in by yesterday's midnight deadline.
After the group stages the bottom 5 players will drop out leaving the remaining 16 to fight out the knockout stage.
Good luck y'all.

Results of games will be confirmed the morning after they are played.
League table will be on the forum at the end of the first set of fixtures ie Thursday night 24th November.

We only have 4 days between rounds which isn't long.Can I ask everyone to get their results for Round 2 games in sooner rather than later.
