That's not the end though, the company has two more actions against other broadcasters and another tech company is suing Fox for over 2 b dollars. Given that Dominion settled for half of what they asked for it may be assumed that Fox might come to a similar agreement with te other company suing. It as it did with Dominion, it's still nigh on 2b out if their bank account.
Still worth it to prevent Fox execs and presenters having to testify as to why they went ahead and broadcast what they knew to be lies against Dominion.

As Meiselas said a jury probably would've awarded the full amount which is actually why they settled but an appeal would've knocked it back to an amount that related to the companies actual earnings and projected future losses.

Putting presenters/execs on the stand would've been an embarrassing side show and revealed how disfunctional Fox really is but we already knew that through the revelation of their internal comms.

It was very difficult to calculate the damage done to Dominion.

States don't change these arrangements very often so the damage might occur years ahead when the contracts are due to expire.

The discovery meant Fox emails and texts became public knowledge showing they knew it was all false. But kept it up because they decided their audience preferred to be lied to. People that dumb aren't going to suddenly go elsewhere.

Some did go elsewhere Hillman, when Fox News declared early in favour of Biden they lost a good chunk of viewers to the likes of NewsMax as they weren't toeing the audience line. Their presenters then obviously reeled back from that position by then constantly declaring the election was nicked even though they knew it was BS.
