Credit Ratings and Credit Cards

Post by antdad »

Back in the day I used to just apply for a 0% Credit card for 24 months to make a large purchase and pay it back over time, now I only seem to be able to qualify for pocket change. Checked my credit score for the first time 800 + so ok I think.

No warnings or defaults ever, only thing that's a possible red flag is that I didn't quite realise I still have 6 active cards and all but one are unused with an available credit of £30K + . I guess the algorithm is wondering why I don't use them plus a couple of hard credit searches for small stuff and more than one of those every six months is bad.

Anybody shed any further light?

Thought so. :(

Edit: Read the terms properly idiot, based on a credit limit of £1200 not actual credit limit agreed or granted.
