I don't think there are any "official" global figures tbh.
Each government / organisation massages them to suit their own agenda..the 74% is a world average apparently

The argument about the vaccine surely has nothing to do with how/where the virus originated.

It's pretty stupid to argue that the vaccine has not prevented many deaths. Covid is still around but having far less serious effects.
