Yep, a good win for Emma (4-6, 6-1, 7-6) and for Team GB v France. Two wins in two days with seemingly no injuries or niggles is a good sign.

Team GB next in the finals of the BJK Cup in September.

Great win by our Emma, but was Katie Boulter playing? Did she win as well?

Note. Realise this is the Emma thread, but just wondered.

Boulter did play and had a mixed weekend. She lost 6-2, 6-0 to Diane Parry on Saturday (losing 12 games in a row). On Sunday she beat Clara Burel 7-5 6-0 so GB won 3-1 not needing the doubles.

Harriet Dart, Heather Watson and Fran Jones were all in the squad as well.

As Reg had a go about posting about the swarm of bees at Indian Wells as not Emma related, decided to omit the rest but good on you for asking. :)

Now starting in Stuttgart v German Angelique Kerber, a fellow US Open winner as well as winning the Australian and Wimbledon. Now ranked 342 but only recently back after a long time off to have a baby. Raducanu just favourite.

Easy win 6-2, 6-1. Czech teen Linda Nosková, ranked 31 next tomorrow. 3 wins in 5 days shows the fitness is getting back.

She was playing a 36 year old with a limp.

I knew our Emma would come good in the end. I expect her to win now at RG.

Good win against Nosková. 6-0, 7-5. Tougher against World number 1 Iga Świątek next tomorrow in the quarters.

Getting through four games in six days is the better news. Also four matches in the clay swing leading up to Roland Garros.

More trite, simplistic hackery here from The Spectator, which is quite reminiscent of the outpourings of some forum members here: https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the ... -raducanu/

Tragedy FFS.

Yes, a very snidey article with plenty of cheap shots.
And as you say, Carlos, indicative of the posts from certain forumers who want her to fail but don't have the balls to say why.

The Spectator is a niche publication that no one gives a fuck about, especially Emma. Ok, you're providing content. That's good I guess.

They haven't even got the chronology right, the withdrawal in Wimbledon 2021 was before she won the US

Yep, Holden. It was that run at Wimbledon that got her national and some international notice before going on to Flushing Meadows.
