So she beat the world number 31 easily yesterday and closely lost to the world number 1 today in something that isn't her thing. Right, carc.

On rankings:

In the 'live' ranking based on the 12-month rolling accumulation of points (ones added this week minus those falling off from this week last year), while this shows her at 302, this number will go up quite a bit to 221 when it re-sets officially (Monday, I think), based on the points gained in Stuttgart (with none falling off the back end).

In the 'Race' rankings, the ones based on the calendar year-to-date, she is now at 82.

Protected ranking (PR) - the ranking she has been awarded to compensate for being off with injury - this is 103 and that can be used to gain entry into tournaments. She is in the alternates list for direct entry into the French Open sitting currently as the ninth player who can be 'next in' should others fall out of the main draw (completed this week) if they get injured from here until the qualifying event begins.

That FO main draw has 128 players in it but includes room for 16 qualifiers and 8 wild cards and also other PR players ahead of Emma who have claimed their place and there are quite a few of those meaning that she is back down the alternates list.
