I just wondered about other views on this classic old series. I missed it first time around because I was a bit too young to appreciate it, but I remember my old Nan laughed herself dry at their hilarious japes.
I just wondered if it's aged well and is it still fresh and edgy in 2024l. I'm pretty sure it's still showing on one of those cable channels. Maybe I could purchase a box set of this classic on Amazon.
If I enjoy it enough I might give Terry and June a go.

Believe it or not, it was Any Good the first couple of series. Not pants-pissingly funny, but just Any Good.
Then, like most sitcoms, it went down the road of cheap laughs through catch-phrases and slapstick.

The first few programmes were just three old blokes wandering around to fill an otherwise empty day, and chatting nonsense. No "Nora Batty's fucking stockings", no "oh let's make a soap-box car out of a pram and an unexploded WWll bomb", just three old men chatting between themselves.

Sorry, It was a poor attempt at humour starting this up. I don't actually think I watched a full episode of it ever. I might have dipped in, but It's not the thing you watch when you're younger. I'm pretty sure the bloke you wrote this also wrote Open All Hours and Keeping Up Appearances. I guess he knew his market.
