If he doesn't defend his title it will be between the top two of the Candidates, Nepo v Ding.

Most think it was mind games from Magnus towards Firouzja who then was bottom for a while and then finsihed 6 out of 8.

And most GMs think he will play. Especially now as should beat Nepo again. Maybe retire after that as next time the young men will be better.

But I dont think a Bobby Fischer 1975 refusal will happen next year, IMO.

And will happily donate £10 to Cats Protection if Magnus doesn't play Nepo.

Just watching US Champs where Niemann is playing. And doing rather well.

Have to say, no proof of cheating over the board but he cheated online. Cheats are cunts yeah but I am finding the levels of hate and bullying slightly distasteful - and a lot of fuckers like naka and gotham are profiteering from this cos zillions are tuning in. Respect to the dude for even turning up!

Agree with you 100%. Even the chess.com report states at the beginning, cheating online more that he admitted, but no evidence of anything over the board.

So yeah, should still be allowed to play otb in my opinion.

And yeah, can imagine what social meeja is like and not going to watch Naka on this, just like his chess. And seldom watch the Gotham cunt anyway.
