I know it spoils the fun a bit but shall we try a few facts?
Savile wasn't specifically a paedophile. He was a serial opportunist assaulter of women.
He did it on older people,as much or more; even, it is thought , the dead.
As there are, strangely, no records, no-one can be sure of how many and where his offences were committed. But it is widely believed he did as much, if not more , at LGI , Stoke Mandeviille and Broadmoor
There must be a thread somewhere ( I have never found it though) about how the management of those institutions allowed him access to the arguably, more vulnerable people they did.
All the steam is about the BBC.

At the time Savile was doing this, it was considered normal for adults to be in the company of children. In voluntary organisations, scouts and guides, sports clubs, schools, childrens homes, the church, youth clubs and all the rest.
What you call "safeguarding" wasn't considered then.
We know that hundreds of people in those organisations took advantage of this uncontrolled access to abuse children. There have, for example, been dozens of examples of children in care being abused.
Does anyone remember the kids that used to be in the studio with Tarrant and co on Saturday mornings?
The whole "safeguarding" idea is quite recent.
But you expected the BBC to have adopted it fifty years ago.
And you ignore the abuse he practised- more often- on patients he had access to in LGI, Stoke Mandeville and Broadmoor. Indeed his access to Broadmoor was facilitated by one Margaret Thatcher.
This is just a stick to beat the BBC with, while ignoring the rest.

There were numerous enablers of Savile s behaviour. Politicians BBC, Charities, work colleagues , his management. They all need calling out.

Jimmy Savile had his caravan at BBC television centre where young girls (and some boys) would be sexually assaulted on site.
