In fairness Savile was put on the task force by a civil servant called Cliff Graham and Currie rubber stamped it.

My concern would be how Savile had so much influence over civil servants which were key to his activities

I think you can take that as a "given", HJ.
Don't want to get myself or the forum in trouble, but rumour has it that a person in recent news (who hasn't been a public figure for 25+ years) was one of those named.

The same rumours also claim Labour MP, Sinn Fein MP, Conservative MP, Senior Civil Servant and Senior Police were all involved.

There were named PIE individuals who had been in the employ of the Home Office since the since the 70's and were finally rooted out in I believe 83 or 84 when Brittan was Home Secretary

I heard a reporter on LBC yesterday mention a cabinet minister in Tony Blair's Government, he said he knew who it was but for obvious reasons didn't name them.

For a nosey bastard like me, that was torture.

Oh no, you'd keep a copy somewhere. I mean, what a great way of blackmailing some very influential people.

Leon Brittan was on the top of the list of visitors to Elm Guesthouse, so it suprises me not one bit that he has tried to supress any information from his evil sidekicks

There will be a copy somewhere, if it hasn't been inadvertently shredded, in much the same way as Tony Bliars expenses were 'accidentally' shredded when that shenanigans came to light. It isn't just he UK filing systems which seem to be crap, those letters between Bliar and George Dubya have also gone missing.
Its possible the press have a copy, the Daily Express ran the story in 1988 before it was delivered ?

I certainly hope they do !

If you or Steve pm me the names mentioned I wont post them up on here. I too am nosey.
The old and now dead MP for this area, North Down, was a notorious nonce. He died of a heart attack on a train in London, 20 years ago, strongly rumoured here at the time because he had just opened a letter from someone saying they were going to the press about it.

Also has the name 'Kincora House' been brought up in any of these?

I can totally see Tony Blair on that list.

There has NEVER been someone who walks this earth that looks more like a nonce.

Does anyone else find it slightly weird though, that people make lists of this sort of thing? 7

Why?
