Have been in A&E for the past couple of days - not for myself - and was pleasantly surprised by how much the snow had radically reduced the number of people in that time to the extent that there was not one soul waiting there at 8am yesterday.

Sadly, that didn’t sort out the bed issue as the department couldn’t sort of a bed on the ward on Thursday night but all good now.

The last time I was in A&E was one freezing night a good few years ago. I had a bad cut had but not life threatening. Few others around - it was early evening - apart from a youth complaining loudly to a mate that he 'd had to wait to be seen about his injured shoulder.
Then he told how he'd got injured. He'd been trying to hit someone with a brick and had slipped on the ice.
All sympathy disappeared.
