talkSPORT can announce that Matt Forde and Jon Richardson will team up for talkSPORT weekend show The Warm Up (11am – 1pm), starting this Saturday.

Matt Forde and Jon Richardson will present the build up to talkSPORT’s live exclusive Premier League match every Saturday, and give a fan perspective of the weekend’s football action as well as a comedic take on the big sports stories of the week.

Matt Forde has been a talkSPORT presenter for over five years, and now also presents live show The Political Party with Matt Forde, which mixes topical stand-up and political debate. Award-winning comedian Jon Richardson is best known for being team captain on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and has completed several stand-up comedy tours and appeared on Have I Got News For You among others. The two also worked together Grows Up, a comedy show on Channel 4 last year.

Matt Forde said: “I’ve worked a lot with Jon and he’s an incredibly talented guy and I know that the talkSPORT audience will love him. Football is hugely exciting to our listeners and this is a great slot as people will be listening while they get ready to listen or go to the match. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Jon Richardson said: “I can’t wait to get back on the radio and Saturday mornings on talkSPORT with Matt is the perfect place. I'm not a natural optimist, but even I feel like anything is possible on a Saturday morning before the reality of 16:45 sets in and with it the autopsies and the blame.”

Liam Fisher, UTV National Radio Controller, said: “It’s great to have Matt and Jon together on the radio as they’re very in tune with our audience of football fans. talkSPORT has been leaning more towards mixing humour with sports content recently, and this has gone down very well with listeners.”
