Tried his show, but his smugness puts me right off. Plus his female sidekick is as derivative and obvious as fuck.
Imagine a vaccine so safe you have to blackmailed into taking it, for a virus so deadly you have to be tested to know if you have it.

I don't know whay they always have to do that. Like Danny Baker always has to have some woman with him, contributing barely anything.

Re: Iain Lee
You'll usually find half his loyal listeners don't even realise he's back on til about 6 months down the linedeisegirl wrote:I don't listen to anything on TR apart from this show but from reading the DS thread on the station they are struggling for calls in general. Iain Lee seems to get his fair share, with a high proportion of them being utter fruit loops, like these two lads who were bypassing him and having a conversation with each other on air last night (maybe around 11?)
Edit: it's on the podcast from 7:30

T'Colonel was the best. Loved his not-gay not-tory tales of bumming his "nephews" down Westminster way

This is the best show on the new formats isn't it? A bit odd, occasionally challenging, occasionally funny, a bit of a throw back as to why we're all here in the first place isn't it?

Re: Iain Lee
I can only catch Iain's podcasts but they seem to be really funny. Next time I am off of work and doing an all nighter, I will have to listen in live.

It's good so far but then it's similar in ways to Tommy Boyd, Ian Collins AND Danny Baker, and I always liked their most eclectic output.
Not sure playing the entire Littlest Hobo theme tune every night is working, though. But, overall, it's working for me.

Re: Iain Lee
Nigel from Maidstone call last night to the Iain Lee show on talkRADIO.
The low-spirited presenter was feeling down already and had just spent about 10 minutes talking sadly but openly on-air about his aged mother being in hospital in pretty poor health, .... when Nigel rings in.
I think what followed was Nigel being tested with the most searching questions I've ever heard asked of him. On first hearing it my view was the presenter was too hard on him, but having listened more and thought harder I now don't think he was too harshly dealt with.
Nigel has an agenda when he rings a radio station, he doesn't want to listen to what's being said and have a conversation he just wants to play his songs so my view is you get what's coming if you ring a radio show especially a show like the Iain Lee show.
Just my view and others will think differently.

Re: Iain Lee
I just love Iain Lee's straight-to-air calls after midnight you get some right fruitcakes phoning in. Last night Dave rang in, the first time he rang it was before midnight so he had to go through the normal procedure of speaking to a phone opp but when he kept ringing in after that because he felt he was being cut off he was put straight to air because it was after the deadline.
The thing is though he didn't know he was going straight to air and thought he was speaking to a phone opp called Steve.
