Nice one Bas.
I'll be giving a few of the ones mentioned a good listen.

Re: The favourite podcast thread
Misery Loves Company - my fave podcast at the moment. It's presented by Kevin Brennan who is an American bog-standard comedian - not that famous, rich or good ; but been around the block about 25 plus years and he apparently took Sarah Silverman's V back in the day - and a co-host (he's now on to about his 4th or 5th as they all leave!) Brian McCarthy (a legally blind, wannabee 'hack' comedian with terrible lines but made his money by producing softcore cable porn)
Brennan is miserable, angry and nasty at times and will 'shit on' other comedians regularly eg the likes of Schumer often. There is an episode where he has Bill Burr on and calls him a fraud/fake etc ;it gets a bit awkward - not a great episode, Burr probably a bit pissed off he came out of his way to go there and his met with resentment from the start about how rich and succesful he is and Kevin isn't ; but I think Brennan and McCarthy are getting in to the swing of things together and the last 5-6 have been very funny. The co-host is quite funny in a 'that's a terrible joke' or how he'll also just throw out some random famous person's name and tell them how much of a cúnt they were e.g he met Tom Selleck, and wanted a photo fro his granny etc, Selleck comes away with ''If I give you one, then this whole place will want their picture'' and Brian replies with ''Calm down! You're not that famous anymore!'' (obviously before that terrible, terrible Blue Bloods program, and post-Magnum Tom Selleck chilling period) They'll usually get a guest on - normally a comedian- and the conversation usually ends up bitching about life, people and oddly strip clubs and rub-tug places get mentioned more than once.

Re: The favourite podcast thread
There is a long series of podcasts that I stumbled on by some people called Liberty Street Geeks which are usually very funny. They do podcasts about old and new science fiction and fantasy films and TV shows like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Westworld and Stranger Things (Season 2 of which is out next friday!! ).
If you like that sort of thing then they will provide days of pretty funny entertainment.

TV Cream has been a great site for many years but some of the alternative film commentaries are worth a listen..

Re: The favourite podcast thread
Misery Loves Company - especially the last 20 if not more episodes with blind Brian as co-host (Harvey Blindstein). Kevin Brennan's stand up seems a bit meh, but he doesn't give a fuck in the podcast and tells us what he thinks and often slags off Hollywood comedy royalty like Schumer (don't like), Burr (like), Louis CK (did love, but seems very odd) and yet to hear after the CK blow up.
He's had about 3/4 co-hosts and it never worked. Lenny Marcus was far too bland, and the others too ; but Brian McCarthy (made his money by producing straight to Hilton hotel 'Girls Gone Wild' type soft porn stuff is LAUGH OUT LOUD funny with his puns, or too deep/straight to the point/Asperger ''Your wife left you and ex killed herself, why?'' or ''You're a cunt and steal jokes'' to Schume, his questions will have you cringing, laughing or confused ; but mostly laughing.
Best pod going.

Re: The favourite podcast thread
A repost from another thread, but I !istened to these two last week and thoroughly enjoyed them.
On a tangent Finchy, your folks are from Lewis, aren't they?
I don't know if you're into podcasts, but the well-known US mystery podcast, Astonishing Legends, just did a two parter about the Flannan Isles Lighthouse disappearances in 1903.
Really really good they were too. Very comprehensive, creepy, and a great interview with the author of the most recent book about the mystery in the second part.
This should be up Kev's street too.

You have Barry who genuinely believes in all things paranormal, and Ray who is a complete sceptic.
It's basically 45 minutes of Ray pointing out why he's a fucking bellend for believing in this stuff, but some of it has me crying with laughter. I usually listen to it while I'm taking the dog for a walk and I get some funny looks from people when they see a man standing in the woods bent over double, laughing to himself.
3 series of it.

Re: The favourite podcast thread
This is my favourite podcast without a doubt.
An old/hackish comedian and a legally blind, ex softcore porn producer/wannabee standup doesn't sound too exciting, but it's fucking hilarious
Start from Episode 75 when Brian McCarthy joins as co-host. Might take a few listens, and its not all porn/strippers talk (in future episodes).
