Has anyone heard his 'how I got into football in a jumpers for goalposts style' ad break filler on the talkshite app yet? The first thing I thought of after hearing it was that he's made that up. Utter Shi'ite

When did cycling become a major event for TalkSport? Seems a strange choice to get all moral about.

No premiership this week.
All the Home nations did well.
No major injuries apart from one and he doesn't really count as he's only from a probationary Home nation it was inflicted by a stout son of Blighty's soil....okay Welsh then. But not a dirt Forrin bastard though!
So flailing around for something reasonably shoutworthy and....well, those bicyclists are under a bit of a cloud , arent they? Lets do that.

Saggy could do 3 hours moralising on picking your nose with the wrong finger especially if the reverend Calvin is on with him

Re: pastoral care with saggy
On the way to Asda just now ('we're open 'til 11pm but don't tell anyone', a staff member said to me), all the way there and all the way back, Saggy Baggy and his team were raking over the Wenger coals again;
- 'A 67 year-old will never change and can't re-invent himself' - Would have thought that a manager who has taken his team to the top 4 for 16 years in a row whilst numerous other managers have come and gone is actually quite good at changing with the times.
- 'No-one at the club cares' - What actual proof is there of this?
- 'There's Civil War amongst the fans' - What exactly are the numbers, as my corporate bosses would have asked me whenever I went to them and told them we have a problem? So much journalistic content is based on qualitative hypotheses without any quantitative backing. There is no hiding the segment of fans who want Wenger out but how big is it? Has anyone got the remotest idea if it's 1k, 10k or 30k? Different numbers will have different significance.
- 'The English players haven't kicked on' - As an ex sports coach, I'm wondering just exactly how Saggy and his mates have knowledge about player development so that they know where these players in question should have been by now? I've never been a huge Walcott fan but from what I've seen, he's improved significantly in the last 2 years, especially in his finishing.
- Where has Ozil been for 4 months - Well, injured for part of it and his contribution last night looked pretty good to me but then again, I don't expect players like him to put in 'shifts' like the English football culture demands, even if this means just running around like a bat out of hell for 90 minutes as I did once for a non league manager who praised effort over achievement once.
- Wenger 'gets away with it time after time' - Even putting aside for the moment the underlying inference there that what seems to me to be one of the most principled managers in football is conning everyone, numerous other managers including some in the top 8 clubs who don't really seem to achieve anything (unless with clubs / squads where frankly, anyone could manage success) are given leeway because of numerous and quite reasonable reasons for the lack of trophies.
Anyone would think they were talking about my local team Oldham Athletic.
I'm not an Arsenal fan but do think the TS narrative about Arsenal is tedious, stereotyped and riddled with qualitative and unsupported cliches.
And by the way, when did Arsenal acquire this divine right to win the PL or anything else, for that matter?
How about the argument when you look at the gross and net spend of Arsenal over the last 10-15 years, when compared to teams like Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, Wenger has actually got them batting way above their average?
Just putting it out there.

You make some really great points there about this and that and what-have-you.
