Christ that's almost as depressing as appointing Gareth Southgate as your national manager
A joyless arsehole.

A great piece of forward thinking by the So Fucking Awful.

"Right lads, who can we get to herald in a new, innovative time for our national team?
Someone who can reinvigorate the game here, someone who has had a long and successful career at the top level and is capable of bringing out the best in the stars of tomorrow.
Someone who hasn't been part of any Scotland set up that has failed us over the last few decades.
Someone who is in it for the long haul and won't jump ship at the first opportunity for the riches of the English leagues.
Someone who won't pick a player simply because they play for one of the Ugly Sisters."

Yes, it's Alex Fucking McLeish. Or given he was a Hun and has been given a second chance, should it be The Alex Fucking McLeish 2018?

I must admit, if I were a young scotch footballer, Alex wouldn't fill my heart with joy. #clutchingatstraws

Good to see young, progressive coaches being given a chance.

And they wonder why the game is in such decline here.

A message on Pie and Bovril's twitter thingy sums it up perfectly.

"After 125 days the SFA board have finally plumped for a guy that has already walked out on his country, been a disaster at his last four clubs and has been out of work for the last 2 years as a result."

Good luck to big Eck, but what a disappointing appointment. He seems to know he's not fancied by many of the fans going by his Q&A today so fair dues to him for that ; but I won't be giving the SFA a single penny. As a country, we are slow moving forward as a more confident nation, but it seems the SFA are stuck in the parochial past.

Celtic were absolutely outstanding last night, and all the Scottish players were brilliant. Bit worried they'll sit back in Russia, but we'll see. Hopefully they get through. No Gordon, Armstrong, Griffiths, Boyota, Roberts or Rogic available either. A tremendous performance.
