Got to be honest, I've never heard that phrase before. I've heard of being 'green' as in inexperienced (normally about horses; can be coupled with 'and hungry' if Quinn's horses), or 'wet behind the ears'. Never a combo though. Interesting.

Someone called me that about 25 years ago. I too thought at the time that it should have been "wet behind the ears" and then came to the conclusion that it was a local term. Just seemed to have stuck in my head since. Never thought I would use it a quarter of a century later on a social messageboard - I'm clearly no visionary like George Orwell.
