Re: FA Cup 2017/18
That's Crewe Alexandra out of the cup, courtesy of a 1-0 home reverse against Blackburn in last nights second round replay. Sadly, if we go down, which looks very possible, it may be a long time before we see the 'proper' rounds of the cup seeing as the national league and below have to play qualifiers.

Re: FA Cup 2017/18
Back in the 70s Crewe were perennial re-election candidates keeping the likes of Wigan Athletic out with the 'old boys network.
Would be a sad day if Crewe one of the leagues traditional clubs lost its league status.

I'm afraid it looks ever increasingly on the cards. I was at the first ever league game between the Alex and Latics in 1978, I was only about 6 but I can remember it to this day and I'm sure it was an Easter Monday game, think we lost that match and had to apply for re-election yet again that season, thank fuck the Uniteds, Liverpools, City's and Everton's liked us, on paper you think the Scouse clubs would have looked out for Southport more. I know Altrincham used to play holy fuck that us, Halifax, Rochdale etc used to be repeatedly shit but somehow got voted back in the league. If it wasn't for that old boys network Crewe Alexandra would have disappeared a long long time ago, maybe our luck has run out.....

Beer in the fridge, snacks on standby and the whole nation parked in their armchairs on BBC1 hoping the Merseyside giants will give us neutrals a good match on Friday Night to see off the Christmas gloom and start 2018 in style.

Think Van Dijk’s making his debut though.

Milner scores . Pray God he doesn't hit a form that will get him into the World Cup squad. That would truly be awful.

Love to know how the ref thinks it's OK to shove opponents into the crowd when they're already off the pitch. Booking (or worse) all day long...
