Anyway, back on track, her murder just seems to be in line with a depressing trend in recent years targeting Human Rights groups, journalists who dig a little too deep into a country's affairs, dissident political groups and anyone generally trying to expose corruption and fraud. Ruling political oligarchies along with the intelligence services and their financial backers are just too big and powerful to be reined in.

I think tick needs gently putting in his place now and again when he starts acting like a little arsehole and it's much more effective ,( and appreciated ), when it's done by a third party.
Robert's right that if it degenerates into a seven page slanging match it gets counter productive but personally I think there's a balance to be struck and anyone's entitled to a brief counter comment in reply to nasty posts.

Yeah that's exactly what I thought actually Colin, but I hesitated to say anything because I didn't specially want to get called a racist all over the place.
That's why I was surprised when someone said they had a low murder rate and checked it.
When I was very young I cut my teeth around Soho and they had these little drinkers and spielers upstairs in Greek Street and Dean Street from where an old chap called Joe Daflora used to run his various businesses . They were into everything from strip bars where the 'champagne' is unexpectedly £300 a bottle to protection and - let's face it - murder, ( couldn't think of another way to put that).
Of course porn was illegal then and they ran that as well as various levels of prostitutes. Actually they weren't bad to deal with compared to those who came later - quite social and generous but they'd try to bribe you and compromise you at every opportunity and they were dangerous in that respect .
They got largely turned over in the pimping game by other immigrants as they began to pour in to save the nhs and drive busses, but they hung onto the porn and gambling and gradually moved into hot doggies and three card tricks. Last I heard they were losing a lot of that to Syrians Algerians and Morrocans, and of course the Chinese, who were only the other side of Shaftsbury Avenue picked up a lot of the stuff which required an IQ over room temperature.

Can't be more explicit than that unfortunately, but yeah I could certainly make you hair curl if I told you some of their fucking antics.
