I watched GB News for the first time last night as Porky was on something called Mark Meets. Mark Dolan meets famous and not so famous faces with stories to tell and Porky was a guest.
Heard it all before, but Porky seems to either be HATED or LOVED in this 'ere bailwick, and I enjoy his mostly bullshit stories, so it was funny, if you like Porky's porkies. Yes, I ken, he would probably tell me to fuck off if I ever tried to talk to him in a Stockbroker-belt pub, but he is entertaining. I occasionally listen to his podcast with Lesley Ann Jones and it is OK. As the great Higgo said, him and MK pissed it all away regards The Two Mikes.
It's probably on YouTube or something, but he trotted all the same old lines
-Broke Princess Diana's death to the world.
-Blagged his way in to the Chester Chronicle as a cub reporter.
-Kings School Chester got a shout out.
-started talkSPORT/RADIO with McKenzie - I cannot remember his exact thoughts on Kelvin (if he spoke about it on the Two Mikes podcast) but I'm sure he said he was a twat on those old podcasts? He didn't say too much about him last night, so assuming he still thinks that. Glossed over Kelvin and just talked about Brazil and his drinking ability!
-Prince Andrew's girlfriend story - NO, not that one ; but Kay Stark?!
-Cardiomyopathy story, and Dolan then said something along the lines of "he turned around Diabetes too through good eating habits and exercise" as the camera cuts to a 4'9 15 stone Parry
I was hoping for the jet-skied round Necker Island story, or Rudolph Nureyev's last words one.
Interestingly it looked like Dolan wanted to talk about The Two Mikes. Gave a wee speel about they 'sold out' the O2 and their show was basically them drinking wine and swearing. Parry then said ''Yes, the live show. The radio show was different. It was great,'' and then he moved swiftly on - just as picture of the Two Mikes popped up on the screen.
He then was on some panel show, similar to what I think he does on the Wright Stuff but with lesser-kent pusses.
PS It must be expensive to start up a TV channel, and I have a few IKEA things at home, but the station looked a bit tin pot. It was OK though, nowhere near as naff or right-wing as I expected. Although not sure I'll be tuning in to him, Alasdair Stewart, Michelle Dewsbury or whoever - nothing wrong with them, just there are better alternatives.
