Shouldn't we just admit we are not a tennis playing nation?

Dear Ginny. God save the Queen and all that. Gonna be longer for a female winner than Fred to Andy. :(

Please Nadal beat the Serbian cheat. Now equal with Federer on GSs, but 13 of Nadal's slams have been in Paris. Federer the more versatile, and he only needs one hand to play.

And the LTA wonder why it cannot attract young, hungry, dare I say 'working class' players, just look at the hosts of the ATP thing on BBC ... perhaps two of the blandest, dullest, most middle-class white men in Britain today: Andrew Castle and Tim Henman. I can hardly imagine many young men of colour thinking to themselves: "....yeah, man, tennis looks real dope man....look at those dudes, wicked!". Is that how young people speak? I dunno, but you get my point.

The Barker-Henman-Castle troika of middle-class banality is grim. Competent TV presenters, don't get me wrong, but about as edgy as a thing with no edges. It's all very chummy and cucumber-sandwichesque. Do pass the Pimms old boy ... cue Sue wetting her knickers and laughing for no reason. Nice to see the Beeb wheel Sue out tho, I thought they had mothballed her.

Oh and as for watching tennis with no fans. No thanks. Still, it fills the schedules for a few hours doesn't it. I do feel sorry for all the old dears stuck in care homes missing out on Escape to the Country having to watch his corporate jamboree.

Not Emma related but Indian Wells. Play suspended in Alcaraz v Zverev for a massive swarm of bees:
