He's worked on his action and got wickets as a result. Every other bowler apart from Anderson has been worse than Broad this winter (Overton excepted, perhaps). At the end of the day, Broad will be the only bowler to win us a test all winter.
I'm not a big Broad fan, but his overall test record is up there with the greats and on current diminished form he is still ahead of any alternatives England could pick. His batting is neither here nor there, the management need to bat him at an appropriate place now. It's wicket takers England need to win tests.
