Where you going for your summer hols?

Oh and, try American Airlines if you want to go first class. I did it via Tokyo last year and it was cheap enough not to hurt.

I visited last year, too. Wonderful city. The return flight via Hong Kong was difficult, though. No sleep for about sixteen hours; drank coffee instead of water.

I get that you love Yorkshire & fair play to you. Nothing wrong with that at all.

But do you not want to expand your horizons and visit other areas, both in the UK and round the world?

I fear that you won't be getting an immediate reply, Steve which is a shame because I'd like to know the answer too.

Yorkshire has it all, the best people, glorious beaches and rolling hills. Fish and chips and ice cream and all the best things in life.

Going to a Gaming / Comic convention on the 3rd of June in Manchester. XD Not even going out of this country this year as I had to take a load of emergency holidays to look after my mum. Hoping to go to America next year though.

We are off to Madrid again, in mid-June, when it will be dry and hot. Last year it was 38C+ [100F+ in old money] every day.
We asked a couple we knew if they would like to join us and take advantage of my lady’s knowledge of the city and language [she’s Spanish].
They declined, having other plans.
Then shortly after they said they were going to Madrid with some others in April.
They did. It was cold and poured down every day.
I think they call it schadenfreude.

When are you going? I always thought that they were unlikely during summer when in northern latitudes its light for much of the 24 hours.
During the darker winter half of the year you wlll probably see them, that far north.
We saw them a lot in Norway, just near the Arctic Circle, in April in a number of years.
Absolutely stupendous and breathtaking. Changing all the time and never the same from night to night. You'll find yourself just standing there staring, totally gobsmacked. Then all of a sudden they switch off, quite weird.
