Amazing night,

it was my 45th birthday...my dad(who hasn't been well recently), and the lads(who were full of Cha Cha), watched England win on penalties.

Fucking quality. :drinkers: :drinkers:

Bit early for that.
There are still some great teams left in (mainly France and Brazil).
Sweden are tough are hard to break down - England's QF won't be easy.
Croatia are a class act, too, although they've blown a bit hot and cold so far.

The FA should refuse to play the cheating bastards ever again.

Ref could have sorted it in the first half, but he was weak as fuck. As soon he gave the pen the message partially got through, but Barrios should have walked, and the persistent dissent should have resulted in more yellows and a couple of reds. If you don't clamp down on that sort of shit, it soon spreads and control is then put in danger.

Zam, I have NEVER seen so much protesting after the awarding of a penalty - must have taken 3-4 minutes between the initial foul and the penalty itself. Presumably in that situation a ref can just start booking players until they accept the decision?

And as for all this shit at corners, well. Just glad that we've had a couple of refs with the balls to sort it out.

Can't wait for baldinis 99.3% of decisions blah bollocks. Ref was a fucking disgrace. Every Colombian player should have been sent off and fined fifty million euros. Ref should apologise on live tv, resign, pay the nhs 600 million and award England three more goals

There have been more than a few games when a corner or free kick resembles nothing more than NFL linebackers going at each other at a line of scrimmage.

Yeah, I remember Clive Thomas booking a whole wall for not getting back ten yards. It cut it out instantly. The time between fouls and free kicks around the box being taken, have been a disgrace really. As you say, up to 3 or 4 minutes. I couldn't believe the stoppage time of 3 minutes being put up on the board at the end of the first half, but in fairness, the ref seemed to ignore that and played 5.

Grappling in the box was one of the areas clamped down on in the EPL last season, but even there it started off with a few pens and cards, but it wore off as the season went on, although some of the players seemed to get the message, even the likes of Shawcross. It just shows if you take the action as per the Laws it works.

Oh btw, Pickford was a yard and a half off his line saving that pen
