He doesn't even look fit enough to ref PL football. My heart sinks whenever he's in charge of an Arsenal match. You know he's going to make an error, i just pray it goes in our favour.

Give me Mark Clattenburg over him any day of the week.

Not surprised you said that. Clattenburg is a cheat and always did favour the Sky 6.

A few of the lads who sit near me were always anti Clattenburg. I’ve always been of the opinion that there was worse than him about. Martin Atkinson, for a start, another waste of space. There were no English refs at last years WC for a reason.

I think the reason was actually that Clattenburg would have been selected to go but left the Premier League so was no longer eligible.

So you’re agreeing with me about Clattenburg, the best of a bad bunch.

Oh no, far from it. He was put up by the Premier League as he is one of their men. Bit like Howard Webb from a few years ago - poor referee but got all the best gigs because he was an establishment man and did as he was told.

Hmmm, but aren’t all referees establishment men ? Which ones don’t do as their told ?

Hoping they pull this one off.

Like him and Fulham - and hate playing teams who have just lost...

I might've been slightly early in writing him off ;)

Bugger for the rest that Newcastle won, the unexpected results at the bottom really do hurt the others.

Some of the South Americans wouldn't like playing in this cold winter weather, especially in the north east.
