Pet, you do know it was your draw at Goodson that has made the difference being the last points Liverpool dropped I think.

Are you kidding, Jon :D

In the pubs in the city of Liverpool they speak of little else

Mind you, if it hadn’t been for Pickford this prolonged challenge to City would never gave got off the ground and the Grand Old Team would have been fighting it with y’all for a CL spot.

Roll on August......it is gonna be our year :drinkers:

If they can't get around FFP, they can get around anything the premier league puts in.

Like the Chelsea Russians have shown, nothing gets in the way of state financed money laundering...

Haven't the Glazers drained more than a billion quid out of your club, about the same as Mansour and Abramovich have invested.

The problem with “restrictions” is that the challengers will be affected as well.

United and Liverpool have each chucked hundreds of millions at it as well but cannot beat City.

I think this is all about Pep.

He spends the money and gets the results.

While he is there they will continue to dominate.

After that they will come back to the pack.

But in the meantime......I can’t see any of us landing a blow for that EPL title.

I mean, he got almost exactly the same points tally last season as this.....and will probably get more ir less the same next campaign.

This was a freak season fir Liverpool.....you couldn’t see them replicating it.

And no one else will either.

Already next season is a battle for second place.

Bottling our way to 97 points

Oh how I wish we had a non-bottling season like Spurs, Everton or the Ole's at the wheel mob.

United can't beat Cardiff City, never mind Manchester City.
Proves that money isn't the complete answer.

I don't really take much notice of the top six or so teams cause they play moneyball not football , but without detracting from Manchester City I can't help feeling very sorry for Liverpool ,who've achieved an incredible tally of points and worked so hard and consistently only to finish second.

As well as they have done, Liverpool drew too many games so you can't feel sorry for them.

A 7 point lead should have been a decent cushion considering they didn't get to the finals of the domestic cup competitions. City are exceptional at clawing back points deficit (as United know only too well).

The killer for them was drawing against an awful United side who were there for the taking.

Fair play if they get another points total like that next season, it could happen. Alternatively, it might take another five years before they get a chance to take it to the last day of the season. After 2014, all I heard from LFC fans was "next year's our year" etc...not always that straightforward.

The table does not lie but they've still got a chance in the CL final (even though it's what they really wanted).

Even after the celebrations I doubt David Silva had a hair out of place.

Tight margins for the top two this year. Both teams were fantastic.

All this talk of ‘our’ and ‘we’ from non match going supporters is a ponderer.

Klopp has perfect motivation for the Champions league final after getting so close in the league this year. I don’t think Vertonghen and Alderweireld have enough in the centre to cope.

Fair play to Ole, it may have taken 5 years but he finally managed to get Cardiff to turn in a decent performance in the Premier League
