It may be a flawed argument, I don't know shit about equine psychology but, why when the horses have disposed of their jockey do they continue to gallop around with the others jumping the fences?Zambo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 10:21 amPeople have the brains to weigh up the risks and make their own decisions, animals don't. They run around with the others, but when there is a way round the fence, the divert and take the easy way. No jockey to 'encourage' them to take the jump?dagbladet wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 7:45 pmIt may be a flawed argument, I don't know shit about equine psychology but, why when the horses have disposed of their jockey do they continue to gallop around with the others jumping the fences?Zambo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 10:21 amPeople have the brains to weigh up the risks and make their own decisions, animals don't. Couldn't make it up. A trainer blaming the protesters for the death of a horse because it fell.

Anyone who's been around horses will tell you that they're not the Albert Einsteins of the animal kingdom.
Apparently, because of the delays, the pre-race rituals were curtailed, and it's not impossible that some of the horses were taken by surprise by the first fence. There is a reason why in NH races they're led up to the first fence beforehand, to remind them what a fence looks like, and that they're supposed to jump over them.

"Extinction Rebellion" have, apparently, graciously decided to protect sporting events from disruption by people like them. That's nice.
