I ordered some printer cartridges on-line. I wasn’t desperate and couldn’t be bothered driving to the nearest shop that stocks them.
They were a reasonable price, and arrived by post within three days. Very efficient.
I thought, looking at the on-line web-site that it was a UK company.
No! When they arrived the envelope had a customs declaration because it had come from Switzerland.
The invoice gave the address as an industrial estate in NE Switzerland. However the company’s registered address wasn’t in Switzerland but an address in St. Helier, Jersey, although they claim that their registered office, for customer service, is in Crewe.
There is no named building at the Crewe address and a search stated that, twice the company had been dissolved and now their registered assets are £1. The address seems to be the home of other companies, not the cartridge firm.
I checked the Jersey address. It was an unmarked building, looked more like a house, in a non-descript narrow street in St. Helier. No name, number or name plate on the building. A Google check revealed quite a number of different companies linked to the address, with some mentions of the Panama papers.

Literally shaking rn.
